Thanks Rose, good to know! I forgot that they have other wand woods not in the Celtic calendar. Sycamore is a pretty awesome tree though, they're beautiful!

Wand wood: Oak

Well I got an Elm wand instead… Lucius Malfoy's wand and according to Ollivander great wands for Muggle-Born *tut tut* *whispers "Filthy Mud-Bloods" looks up hoping no one heard that* I like my relations to the wand though : D

At least I don't have Ced's wand *thumbs up*

Birthday: March 13th
Wand wood: Ash (Celtic)
Known similar wand and user: Charlie Weasley, presumably until he handed it down to Ron when the latter started at Hogwarts
Response: I like ash, it has fun Norse myth connotations (with Yggdrasil thought to be an ash tree) and I love the connection with Charlie. Stubbornness is mentioned in connection with owners of ash wands and that's definitely a trait of mine! But I love the yew wand that picked me on Pottermore. I was nervous about yew, due to the Voldy connection, but all my fears were allayed by JK's description.

A wand for good times and bad, this is a friend as loyal as the wizard who deserves it. Wands of English oak demand partners of strength, courage and fidelity. Less well-known is the propensity for owners of English oak wands to have powerful intuition, and, often, an affinity with the magic of the natural world, with the creatures and plants that are necessary to wizardkind for both magic and pleasure.
The oak tree is called King of the Forest from the winter solstice up until the summer solstice, and its wood should only be collected during that time (holly becomes King as the days begin to shorten again, and so holly should only be gathered as the year wanes).

Birthday: June 14th
Wand wood: Oak
Known similar wand and user: Hagrid
Response: I'm not in touch with the natural world at all, but I did get an E (my highest grade) on my Care of Magical Creature's Muggle O.W.L. Both of my wands (Celtic and Pottermore) seem to have courageous and adventurous qualities to them, but I am neither. Sycamore is my Pottermore wand, and it is said to explode if it gets too bored. I'm surprised it hasn't already exploded ;D I'm quite a boring person.

Birthday: May 19th
Wand wood: Hawthorn
Known similar wand and user: Draco
Response: ....AHAHAHAHA, 'COMPLEX AND INTRIGUING'.
'CONFLICTED NATURE'.
THAT'S CUTE.

The wandmaker Gregorovitch wrote that hawthorn ‘makes a strange, contradictory wand, as full of paradoxes as the tree that gave it birth, whose leaves and blossoms heal, and yet whose cut branches smell of death.’ While I disagree with many of Gregorovitch’s conclusions, we concur about hawthorn wands, which are complex and intriguing in their natures, just like the owners who best suit them. Hawthorn wands may be particularly suited to healing magic, but they are also adept at curses, and I have generally observed that the hawthorn wand seems most at home with a conflicted nature, or with a witch or wizard passing through a period of turmoil. Hawthorn is not easy to master, however, and I would only ever consider placing a hawthorn wand in the hands of a witch or wizard of proven talent, or the consequences might be dangerous. Hawthorn wands have a notable peculiarity: their spells can, when badly handled, backfire.
