Mine according to Celtic calendar would be oak - not bad at all. Hagrid's a great character but not one I identify with very much.

On Pottermore i got hornbeam, and I like it:)

Missed this topic. Very interesting too. I wouldn't have minded what the calendar says my wand wood should be, but my pottermore wand definitely suits me better :D

Birthday: April 20
Wand wood: Willow!
Known similar wand and user: Um, Lily and Ron??
Response: I like the description for Willow, but my pottermore wand suits me better. ;)

Pottermore Wand:
Wood: Ash
Core: Phoenix Feather

Ash:
The ash wand clings to its one true master and ought not to be passed on or gifted from the original owner, because it will lose power and skill. This tendency is extreme if the core is of unicorn. Old superstitions regarding wands rarely bear close examination, but it is believed that the old rhyme regarding rowan, chestnut, ash and hazel wands (rowan gossips, chestnut drones, ash is stubborn, hazel moans) contains a small nugget of truth. Those witches and wizards best suited to ash wands are not lightly swayed from their beliefs or purposes.[2]

However, the brash or over-confident witch or wizard, who often insists on trying wands of this prestigious wood, will be disappointed by its effects. The ideal owner may be stubborn, and will certainly be courageous, but never crass or arrogant.[

Interesting topic!

Birthday: April 27
Wand Wood: Willow
Characters: Lily Evans, Ron's 2nd wand
Reaction: Long before I knew this was my Celtic birth tree, I would have told you my favorite tree was a Weeping Willow and there were Pussy Willows near my home. I think I would have done well with a Willow wand but...

Pottermore gave me an Ash wand and I think it suits me best
Characters: Cedric Diggory, Ron's 1st wand (Charlie's old wand)

Birthday: 18 December
Wand Wood: Elder
Known Similar Wand and Master(s): Harry Potter, Albus Dumbledore, Gellert Grindelwald, Antioch Peverell, Draco Malfoy, Tom Riddle/Lord Voldemort (never mastered, just owned)
Reaction: I actually really like this wood! Very powerful, and rare, but but I'm also extremely happy with my Pottermore wand :)

This is what J.K. Rowling had to say about Elder:
The rarest wand wood of all, and reputed to be deeply unlucky, the elder wand is trickier to master than any other. It contains powerful magic, but scorns to remain with any owner who is not the superior of his or her company; it takes a remarkable wizard to keep the elder wand for any length of time. The old superstition, ‘wand of elder, never prosper,’ has its basis in this fear of the wand, but in fact, the superstition is baseless, and those foolish wandmakers who refuse to work with elder do so more because they doubt they will be able to sell their products than from fear of working with this wood. The truth is that only a highly unusual person will find their perfect match in elder, and on the rare occasion when such a pairing occurs, I take it as certain that the witch or wizard in question is marked out for a special destiny. An additional fact that I have unearthed during my long years of study is that the owners of elder wands almost always feel a powerful affinity with those chosen by rowan.

Birthday: 15 June
Wand Wood: Oak
Known Similar Wand and Master(s): Rubeus Hagrid
Reaction: I actually quite like this wood and its description suits me well. I also like to share the wood with Hagrid as he is one of my favourite characters. Still I think that Cedar wood (my wood on Pottermore) suits me very well too.
The real things haven't changed. It is still best to be honest and truthful; to make the most of what we have; to be happy with simple pleasures and to be cheerful and have courage when things go wrong. - Laura Ingalls Wilder

This is an interesting topic. Thank you Rhapsody for bringing it back :)

Birthday: November 17th
Celtic Wand wood: Reed
Known similar wand and user: I can't find anyone with a similar wand, mainly due because Ollivander doesn't use Reed wands. I think at least.
Response: I like reed woods as a rule and they usually feel alive and smooth in my hand, so I would probably really enjoy using a wand with Reed.

Birthday: Jan 22
Wand wood: Rowan
Known similar wand and user: I can't locate anything regarding this.
Response: It's good to be unique

My pottermore wand is different.
Aspen wood with a Dragon heartstring core 9 ¾" and Slightly Springy flexibility
Another instance of uniqueness. I'm sure someone out there has the same, but not any character that I know of.
