True.

I could look in the Torah and see what the Hebrew versions say. Though obviously JKR wouldn't read it.

Yeah. And maybe there are more numbers coming in CoS and it has to do with the books and its like a message. And you need each word to form a sentence.

It probably had something to do with those in Beta. So maybe 1531 has to do with the Magical Quill challenges? It went from the 31st to the 6th. so, 1+5=6 and then, 31 (when it started.)

Also, I asked the question on pm and a girl answered "1+5+3+1=10, AKA Harry’s age before he gets his letter to Hogwarts. 4+1+5+7=17, his age once the trace is broken and he can use magic freely. It’s probably nothing, but there’s the one thing I found out about it." (confusing because she had to write the words eg. One plus five plus three etc.)

I took a look at the Bible verses again Deanie. I looked through my own Bible and found this at 15:31 "If you listen to constructive criticism, you will be at home among the wise." maybe it has something to do with Ravenclaw.

I couldn't find anything relative at 41:57 but I did find a bakery in Birmingham, UK that's phone number ends in 4157. Probably no connection what so ever but it is interesting.

Also... 1531+4157=5688, which when typed into my cellphone using T9, spells “knut” don't know what Knut does but it must mean something if it isn't actually a word.

That's what I think too. I know her numbers usually mean something, but I think they are just random this time.

I don't think it is a water meter because in Britain we don't have a water meter like that; that I am aware of at least. It is usually outside a house.

CharmShadow wrote:Alright, both numbers are prime, which means they can't be divided without coming out as a fraction. That takes out the division aspect of it all, I suppose...

Rowling is fascinated with fractions...I think you are on to something.

I know this is probably wrong but...
1+5+3+1=10
4+1+5+7=17
10+17=27
17-10=7
27/7 (27th July) is JK Rowlings daughters, Jessica's, date of birth... she is also the first person the first book is dedicated to and the only child she had at the time of writing it...

Hi Tilf, interesting idea, you may be right after all we know JK Rowling is really interested in Numerology.

Am I missing something here? Isn't a Knut a wizard coin? You may be onto something there Pumphin.

Have to say I was disappointed that there were no new numbers in the cupboard in book two.

Doubt we will ever know for sure.
