We tried taking it to a few other companies while we were at an event, but they either weren't interested either or didn't have the right people there and could give us the right info, for whatever reason. Most companies just weren't looking for new games at the time though. Maybe I'll try again some time, though the game does need some improvement :)

We did indeed play it quite a bit with other gamers and friends, and they all liked it :D

The fact you created your own rules and all for it is pretty awesome, and the artwork looks great!

I got in touch with the printers about my board today, should hear back tomorrow :D

I agree with Tim, Rhynn, you're two games look great. I would play them if I could.

Have you tried independent game companies with these yet?

Rhynn wrote:The other is a board game, not really based on anything existing that I know of. The goal was to find a legendary tree :) Sounds a bit weird, but it's a lot of fun. We actually presented it to 999games, but they weren't interested in it unfortunately :(

Find a legendary tree for... eternal life? To heal the tree? To take something from it?

Sounds like the board needs a big tree piece for the middle, that players interact with somehow, add an extra dimension / variable to the gameplay :) Then again, perhaps not if it's supposed to be hidden lol.

Thanks Tee. I'll need to decide what to do with my digital files after I'm done. Do I put them up for download, maybe with a donate button? I wonder what response it will get when I FB and tweet it.

Finished design -

My classic Monopoly board arrived! So I matched up my rough prints to it and it's going to fit perfectly from what I can see :)

My money dimensions match it exactly, however, the property cards are a newer tall and slim version. I prefer them, so I'll need to re-do my property and M.O.M + Liquid Luck cards. Thankfully I designed them in inDesign so this is easy to tweak. Photoshop would be much more unforgiving.

Moral of the story? The more prep work the better, get the exact sizes beforehand. I should have bought the classic board first.

My board design is in Photoshop. I should have used inDesign for the board and Photoshop only for advanced effects and textures. inDesign is just much more streamlined for print work, if the dimensions need to change, it's simple to rescale the images. Photoshop is a headache to rescale things. Not to mention rogue layers you cannot find!

Anyway, I can't wait to get up some photos of the printed board.

I lost a few posts so I'll put this back up. The artwork printed on self-adhesive vinyl and stuck to the board.

I'm not sure yet Bren, I have to visit a craft shop and look for some. Small wizards hat, sword, train, fang... Whatever works :)

There's a game called 'Harry Potter scene it' that has figures if you could pick one of those up cheaply like of ebay they'd look good.

Their pieces do look good!

But if I then print off the board multiple times I'd rather have sourced some cheap pieces myself, rather than buy a whole game each time.
