Pumpkin, surely Hufflepuff is the best? I think Tim has that bit right.

Seriously though I think all four stations cost the same.

The board does look amazing though Tim.

Tim the board looks AMAZING!!!

I'd say Room of Requirement for chance cards ;)

River & Pumpkin, you are both wrong - SLYTHERIN is the best! :slytherin:

And why pray tell would Hufflepuff be amongst the least expensive? :P

Does anyone have a chance card on hand to measure in mm please? Just to double check.

Love the board Tim. I love Sunset's suggestion of naming the the Chance Cards as Room of Requirement (or the "Come and Go Room Cards?"... no? Just a passing thought).

Now for card ideas:
Spoiler: show
Since I have misplaced my family's copy of Monopoly I can't remember the exact difference between community chest cards and chance cards, so I just compiled my ideas into one main card list. Do place whatever card(s) into the whichever card set is the better fit for that card.

  • Hexing Tax. Pay G 300.*
  • Pay poor Wizards' tax G 50.
  • 3 Spins on a Time-Turner to change your fate. Go back 3 spaces.
  • Congratulations! You are the Triwizard Tournament Champion. Receive G 1,000.
  • "You don't pay here, Harry." No fees when landing on WWW space. (Can be kept or sold.)
  • You have joined S.P.E.W. Give the player with the least money, G 50.
  • You've found the Mirror of Erised. Advance to any square on the board.
  • You've collected a life-debt. Roll again.
  • You've joined Flourish & Blotts' book club. Pay G 25.
  • You've melted a cauldron. Repairs and new brewing supplies - G 50.
  • You're wand broke. Advance to Ollivanders. Lose a turn while you procure a new one.
  • Break from Azkaban. (Can be kept or sold.)

* in canon the Hexing tax fee is 3,000 but that is really a huge fee for Monopoly, so I reduced it here to 300 instead.

Other general ideas:
In the usual rules, if a player rolls doubles three times in a row they lose their turn and go immediately to jail. So, what if:
:bludger: Roll doubles thrice and you will be thrown into Azkaban for suspected use of 'Dark Magic'. Do not pass Go. Do not collect G 200.

And that is about it for now. I can't believe I've tried writing this post on three separate occasions which each getting accidentally deleted or cleared before posting.

I think 1000 g for the Triwizard is a bit too much though, what about 500?

Because Hufflepuff are like 'the rest' you can tell because that's where River was sorted.

No, I was just thinking the gold, silver order thing. Loving those cards though Tee, they're brilliant!!

I'll try to think up a few too.

Thanks Hermione! I keep seeing different sizes online.

Tee why would the mirror advance you to any square on the board? Wouldn't it cause you to miss a turn?
"You stumble on The Mirror of Erised... See the desires of your heart, advance to Hogwarts and miss the next turn. (Do not collect G200) "

Catch a ride with Hagrid (or Knight Bus), Advance to Go (Collect G200) :)

I actually mentioned Room of Requirement as I saw someone has used it previously for chance cards. It could be limiting making that the theme, but I definitely want to give it a mention on a couple of the cards.
