Commission topic rules

Postby Rhynn » March 4th, 2012, 4:42 pm

If you want to try to make some money with your art by doing commissions for people, you can post a topic about it here on PFF. However, there are some rules you need to follow. Read this very carefully and follow them. Failure to follow these rules will result in an official warning, so be careful!

Commission Rules
-ALWAYS ask a moderator for permission to post a commissions topic first. Use the form below for this. Posting a commissions topic without permission will get the topic removed and you will get an official warning for it.
-PFF is NEVER responsible for any incidents between the artist and the commissioner. PFF is only the platform you use to get clients, NOTHING MORE!
-If you take an assignment and ask your client to pay beforehand, it's a type of contract. If you end up not making the commissioned work of art, the commissioner might take legal action. PFF will have absolutely no party in such an event, it's all between you (the artist) and the client.
-Try not to take too long to finish commissions. It's not nice for the one who is paying you.
-You may NOT claim someone else's work as your own.
-You may NOT copy someone else's drawing and ask money for it. Works of art you do for money should be original. Copying is a breach of copyright and can get you both in legal trouble and in trouble with PFF.
-You may not claim another person's original characters as your own.
-Basically, you may never breach copyright. If you're not sure wether you're breaching copyright, contact Rhynn or just don't take the assignment.
-Always be clear on what your art may be used for. If you don't set rules for this, the client is theoretically able to use your work for things you might not want it used for. Make sure you have a good set of rules so nothing can happen to your art. Protect your work.

Topic Application Form
Fill out this form and send it to a moderator in a PM. Put 'Commission Topic Application" as the subject of the PM. The moderators will get back to you as soon as possible. Do NOT post your topic before getting permission.

For how long have you been an active member on PFF?
What kinds of commissions do you want to do? (examples would be helpful)
What will your prices be?
What are your rules?
Will you also do requests? (Requests are artworks you don't get paid for)
