Deleting Old PM's

Postby Riverfirebolt » July 30th, 2013, 2:16 am

Just wondered if there is an option I am missing, or if there is any possibility of adding an option to the PM Inbox and Sent Messages folders where you can empty the whole folder in one go?

And I know I should keep on top of it, but I don't have time and then every couple of weeks I have to go through and empty the whole thing and it takes me ages to do a page at a time.

Well River you probably already know this but there is a mark all button but that is only for per page.

i have mine set up so that when it is full (which is always for me), it will automatically delete the oldest message to make room for a new message that is sent.

Go to your messages and click on "Rules, folders & settings" (on the left side of the screen). Scroll down to where it says "If folder is full" and select "Delete oldest messages." Click "Change." ;)

If you're doing that, you may want to consider creating a new folder for pms that you don't want deleted.
Unless, of course, there's never been a pm that you want to keep around, in which case, don't bother.

Thanks guys I do both of them anyway but for some reason I find constantly having so many PM's in my inbox annoying and so still periodically clear it out and having to do a page at a time is really frustrating. Just wondered if there was a chance to have an option, like on Hotmail to select everything in the folder at once?

I found a way! (sort of...)
If you delete a folder, one of the options is to delete all of its messages. Of course, you can't delete your Inbox, but you could presumably route all messages to a folder of your own creation.
