Thanks :) Although to be honest, I haven't gotten very far yet. I don't know much actual Latin either, but it's interesting to learn. I do at least know how to pronounce it, but I think it would be a lot easier to learn if one speaks Italian (or Spanish or something).

Reading Pride and Prejudice again for about the twentieth time, not sure why but I really really love that book.

Also just got the HP audiobooks read by Stephen Fry and listening to them with my mother in law to take her mind off the hours of treatment for an illness she has to have. Never listened to them before but Stephen Fry is amazing. :D

Someone told me to read I am Number Four... never got into "John Smith". I read the first few chapters and couldn't help but feel bored and confused. So I gave up on it awhile back. I did like the idea of the plot though. Very scary!

I'm currently reading The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole, Aged 13¾ by Sue Townsend because my Mum told me that she thinks I'd like it. Big turn in genre after stopping midway during Above by Isla Morely because it's a really traumatizing book that I picked up thinking it would be a sci-fi/futuristic/fiction book but ended up being a survivalist story that was absolutely horrifying to read. Had to stop reading it.

Hmm, I haven't heard of The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole, Aged 13 3/4 by Sue Townsend or Above by Isla Morely. Although, it sounds like I should be grateful I haven't tried reading Above. (I too am usually unsettled with horror or pessimistic survival stories. . . they tend to leave a bad taste behind.)

Currently reading for fun and pleasure: Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen, first time reading it and I'm over the 1000 page mark so happy days; 1632 by Eric Flint, which is a wonderful scifi/alternate history novel about a small American town being scoped up and transplanted back in time during the Thirty Years' War (some descriptions of violence and war); A Princess of Mars by Edgar Rice Burroughs, which is an interesting scifi story about a Southern Gentleman and ex-confederate officer turned prospector that has a truly out of body and out of this world experience; The Case of the Velvet Claws by Erle Stanley Gardner, which is the first book in the Perry Mason series; and last but not least, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (or the Philosopher's Stone if you prefer) by J.K. Rowling.

I recently finished The Last Battle by C.S. Lewis which I had been avoiding finishing since I was twelve.
Spoiler: show
About halfway through the book (the first time when I was twelve) I had the terrible feeling that Narnia would fall. So, I stop reading it and didn't pick it back up agin till this last summer, when I needed to research I few things for a fanfiction I am writing on request of a friend. Anyway, yes I was heartbroken for days after discovering that Narnia did fall and that everyone (except for Susan) apparently was killed or taken before death to Aslan's Country.

I'm in the middle of several rereads.

First, The Hound and the Falcon trilogy by Judith Tarr
Also the Otherland series by Tad Williams
And finally The Dark is Rising series by Susan Cooper (my fave series when I was a kid, I recently unearthed them when we helped my mom move, so I'm taking a trip back to my childhood).
