Thankfully one of the first years had returned the smile. She had black hair which got up to her back and seemed pretty nice. "We'll be taking the boats to the castle now," Grier informed him. "It's a special rite of passage for all the first years." Sebastian wasn't even completely sure what a special rite of passage was, but he assumed it just meant it was a tradition. "Oh cool, where do you know that from? Do you have any brothers or sisters whom go to Hogwarts?" he said. He kind of wished that he did, it would of meant that he knew what to expect when he got to Hogwarts. "Oh and I'm Sebastian, whats your name?" he said accidentally cutting her off before when she was about to respond.

"Thank you," Miles said. "I was trying to make my way over to that woman." He gestured toward the woman with black hair. "Shouldn't we go over there and wait for the others? There were more first years in my train compartment."

" Well yes we should wait somewhere for them Chris said. Chris than look around and saw Thomas the 6th year ravenclaw prefect and look like he already have a few 1st years with him. He probably knows what going on Chris thought in his head.

"Ok than follow me we going over there" Chris pointed at a small group of 1st years and Thomas. "That is Thomas over there a 6th year prefect and look like he already have a group of 1st years with him maybe your friends are over there" Chris and the 1st year walk over to the group

The boy walk to the small group of 1st years and Chris went to talk to Thomas.

"Hey Thomas look like you have size group already do you think we should take them to the boats or wait for more 1st years?

One by one, or else in small groups of two or three, the first years found their way over to the sixth and seventh year prefects that stood by to shepherd them to their destination. They sure are short, Thomas mused, wondering if he too had been that small once. While Sebastian, Grier, and the other first years talked among themselves, the sixth year quietly conferred with the groundskeeper to make sure that they hadn't missed anyone. His initial reservation soon melted away at the palpable excitement emitting off of the first years. Thomas could not help but grin as they chatted animatedly to each other, speculating about what would lay ahead of them in their first year of magical education. "All right, everyone? Make sure you've got a partner, and stick with them!" he called above the crowd. An easy feat considering the fact that he, at sixteen and six feet tall, would be much taller than the growing band of eleven year olds. Hey, this isn't so hard.

Surveying the group with a touch of pride, Thomas turned as an unfamiliar Gryffindor addressed him. Another prefect, he assumed, as those who weren't had already begun to board the carriages. "S'pose we should wait for the gamekeeper to let us know?"

Jacy smiled as she finally managed to find the other first years. She had seen some of them on the train but hadn't dared to talk to them.
Jacy looked at the older student who was calling: "All right, everyone? Make sure you've got a partner, and stick with them!" She looked around. Shall I ask anyone? What if they say no?

Miles followed the Hufflepuff prefect over toward another prefect, a Ravenclaw, where they joined most of the other first years. He looked around for the others from the train, but couldn't spot them. Then the Ravenclaw prefect called out, "All right, everyone? Make sure you've got a partner, and stick with them!"

Miles looked at the other first years around him. They all seemed to be pairing off. Then he noticed a tan girl with black hair looking around anxiously. She looked nervous, which was understandable. Miles was nervous as well - apparently Levi hadn't told him everything - he had never heard anything about boats. Miles approached the girl and said, "Hi. Should we be partners? Looks like most everyone else has one."

Before the other girl even had a chance to reply, the tall caretaker woman spoke over the crowd of first years. "Alright, let's move along." She turned and began walking down a narrow pathway.

Lillian scurried off the train, following Sebastian onto the platform before losing track of him in the crowd of Hogwarts students. At the Caretaker's announcement, Lillian joined the growing clump of equally nervous first years. As the group straightened out into two lines, she found herself without a partner. Hovering in the back, she trailed behind the rest of the first years. It seemed like her Hogwarts career wasn't really off to such a good start...

Having listened to the conversation in the train about houses Ben decided he was obviously going to be a Gryffindor, The Bravest house he certainly thought that sounded like himself. After a while the dark haired girl who seemed to know all about it told them they were getting close and should put their robes on, soon after that the train pulled into a station and all the students got out into the dark and the first years made there way to a tall imposing looking woman who was calling for them.

Ben found himself walking just beside the girl with brown hair who had already been in the carriage when he got there, when a Prefect suggested they partnered up he turned to look at the first year beside him and starting to speak realising halfway though he had totally forgotten her name just said "er... hi... shall we go and find a boat together?" Hoping desperately she din't notice his hesitation.

Right when Grier was about to respond to his questions, she got cut off again by one of the prefects. ""All right, everyone? Make sure you've got a partner, and stick with them!" Sebastian looked around; he knew it was stupid but he sort of wanted to be a boy's partner as usually he found girls boring. Grier had seemed nice, but in his old school he had never hung out with the girls.

However it seemed like it was to late, all the boys seemed to have already paired up. At least a lot of them had paired up with a girl; he wouldn't be the only boy paired up with a girl. He could only see two obvious girls who weren't paired up; Grier and Lillian. Lillian seemed upset that she didn't have a partner yet but then it would be mean to ditch Grier. Sebastian decided he would ask Grier and then if Lillian still didn't have a partner he would ask Grier if they could go back and have a group of three with her.

"Um want to be my partner Grier?" he asked.

Jacy smiled at the boy who asked her to be partners but she didn't get a chance to answer because the caretaker spoke. She stood next to him, not knowing what to say. After a short while she managed to say something: "Um... I'm Jacy Wolf."

Serena climbed into a carriage. She had left her trunk on the train as instructed, but had brought her pouch along; she did that every year and so far, Mrs Coulter had either not noticed or not cared that it contained her pet. She had chosen a carriage at random, but found herself sitting next to one of the boys from her compartment; the one with the transfigured scarf. She smiled at him to show she recognized him, before opening her Arithmancy book and reading again. Engrossed by the subject as she was, she had completely forgotten that the book actually belonged to someone else and idly wondered if Professor Astel would allow her into his class even if she missed Arithmancy in her third year. She didn't even notice when the carriage took off.

RP ANNOUNCEMENT wrote:
"Good work, Prefects," Mrs Coulter remarked. "Let's get the students on their way." With that, she gracefully climbed into the first boat, which immediately set out onto the large, dark lake. A second boot took its place; ready to take passengers. Meanwhile, the first carriage also departed; laden full with older years. The last leg of their journey had now truly begun.

((OOC: Okay, the boots and carriages are good to go. Anyone who wants, can start RPing the journey. There will be another RP Announcement in this thread when students arrive and enter the castle and then we'll take it to the next thread :).))
