Angus smiled briefly as the people around him were rather pleased with his take on a proper sandwich.

"Well, glad you like them. It's a good thing I made enough sandwiches for a long game." he said, as Gregor and Vivian took a sandwich each as well, despite the mustard warning - which added a wonderful heat to the sandwich.

"An don't worry about the mayo. It's low fat anyway." he added, whispering conspiratorially while leaning towards Tiva.

--------------------

The game was never dull. Beaters sent Bludgers to disprupt the other team's effort to score, Keepers used everything in their power to prevent the Quaflle to fly through their goal posts and the Seekers were still searching frantically for the golden Snitch. It was such a close match that only the Snitch or the whistle at the six hour mark would determine the outcome, for now it was still impossible to tell. After the few hours of the frantic game, weariness did begin to seep through in the bones of the players. Passes weren't as sharp as they had been at the beginning of the match, the shouts between Chasers became more pronounced as ad hoc changes of tactics were needed, or a boost to put in extra effort.

All in all, they gave the audience exactly what they had hoped for: a thrilling match, undecided until the last moment.

When the Ravenclaw Beater McRobinn sent the Bludger to the Gryffindor Keeper Hunter, there was a loud booing and hissing noise coming from the Lion's den. When Professor Emms awarded Gryffindor a penalty, the booing turned to cheers quickly, but eliciting protest from the Raven's nest. This was what team gryffindor had practiced for in the rain: a new penalty tactic. Silence fell as the one who would take the penalty was announced: Captain Blakemore would do the honors, possibly setting the score even....

Evelynn crossed her fingers and toes, staying silent was taking very effort she could muster. Captain Blakemore needs silence, to concentrate, she told herself.

"Its not like the Gryfinndor players have wings either. Pity," she said in retort, "About the spell... I found it in a really old handwritten book in the library." Iris spent a lot of time in the library...

The penalty was announced. Iris sighed. She hoped that their Keeper could stop the Quaffle.

((Whats the score?))

Captain Blakemore had looked furious as Cill was attacked. He hoped she was alright; as she righted herself on her broom, he saw her rub her right shoulder but she appeared to be alright. Gryffindor had been awarded a penalty and the Gryffindor captain gripped the Quaffle as he positioned himself. He deliberately put all thoughts out of his mind as he prepared to take the penalty. The Gryffindor team had been practicing a new penalty technique and now was the time to put it into practice. Blakemore threw the Quaffle at one of the goalposts in a peculiar way, so that instead of flying straight, it curved round. Unable to stop it, the Ravenclaw Keeper watched in dismay as the Quaffle curved into the furthest goalpost. There was a cheer from the stands; the score was now even.

Emma gnawed her bottom lip in anguish, rising to her feet and yelling in dismay as Blakemore's shot went in. The score was now 170 even and there couldn't be more than fifteen minutes left on the clock. To make matters worse, both teams would need a lot of time to recover from this gruelling match - giving the fresh Hufflepuffs and Slytherins a leg up during the next matches.

In the Slytherin stand, Serena quickly looked away and suppressed a smile as Damian high-fived Evelyn. She liked his gusto - rooting for the strongest opponent - but he was *not* making any friends today. Then again, she hadn't either by inviting the Gryffindor to sit with them. Maybe they were more compatible than she thought.

The ten minute countdown started. Both teams were showing signs of fatigue. Passes were slow and intercepts even slower. But just when it seemed the match would be a draw, the Ravenclaw Chaser found one last burst of energy. Cil reacted quicker than anyone else on the field, reaching for the ball and even brushing it with her finger tips as it whistled past and through the hoop. The Ravenclaw stand erupted in cheers and firework: 170 - 180. Amidst all the cheering, a single whistle blew: the match had come to an end. On the scoreboard, the blue-and-bronze eagle flag flew proudly.

Liam couldn't believe it. He had been so sure that Gryffindor would win. Emma would love to tease him about her house's win, he was sure. He wasn't lucky at the moment. First, his school uniform that he couldn't wear which forced him to wear an embarrassing pullover and now the defeat of Gryffindor. Maybe he should have paid more attention in Divination class. Had there been any signs that had foretold him an unpleasant week?

Jacy cheered and jumped around. The game was over and Ravenclaw had won. It had been a pretty long game but nonetheless, she had enjoyed it, although she would have preferred to be a player and not a spectator because having the chance to move a little more in that cold weather would have been lovely.

Evelynn sank in spirits, then brightened (maybe). She could, and would stay cheery as she could. "Well, better luck to us next time I guess..." she attempted to say brightly. She wasn't fooling anyone. She bet Iris wouldn't even walk with her, as her team had lost.

Iris spun in a little circle. They won! Then her mind reminded her the Evelynn would be in a gloomy mood for a day or two. She took things way more seriosly than she should have Anyway, she should go try to walk back to the school with her. She had promised. "I'm going to walk with my sister when everyone starts heading back, she's in Gryffindor and is currently in the Slytherin stands and I'm a little worried." she said.

"Your sister is a Gryffindor? Then I might know her. Who's your sister? And which year is she?" Liam asked.

Jacy was so happy. "Maybe we should go to the common room and wait there for our team. What do you think, Emma? We could prepare a few things for the big party."

Cill sulked as she made her way back to the changing rooms. "A win by default," she muttered. "They didn't even catch the Snitch!" Some of the other Gryffindor Quidditch players murmured in agreement.

Gwen was relieved that the game was over. She was happy Ravenclaw had won, but she wasn't quite as excited as the Ravenclaws cheering in the Ravenclaw stand. She was tired, cold, hungry, and there was still studying that she needed to get done. Pulling the cloak tighter around herself in a failing attempt to warm up again, she glanced at Angus, then back at Tiva and Thalle. "Can we go inside?"

"Her names Evelynn, she's a first year, red hair?" Iris told Liam.
