Elvira wasn't going to let Clio get away with it. She recovered from the fist she had taken a minute ago soon enough to notice her leaving. She started following her, cursing and yelling as she passed the awestruck students who were peacefully seating on the benches, discussing the homework they had been given on their first day.
'Get back here, you ugly coward!'
Clio, the Slytherin, turned around. She didn't seem scared, but she was surprised that Elvira had recovered from her fist of fury. Elvira started wondering how her face would look. Her quarter-Veela blood would make her look worse than ever, but she didn't care. She didn't care if she were to get hurt, she just wanted to get back at her. A fist? Hair pulling? Madness! They had a wand, and the other girl was acting like an ordinary Muggle bully!
Elvira tried to take her wand, and a second later she froze in the spot. The fist she had taken must have made it fall from her hand, and she didn't even notice! How could she be so stupid? Her wand was her best friend, yet she had totally forgotten about it.
'It is Clio's fault' thought Elvira. She thought so because the other girl had started fighting the Muggle way.
Clio noticed that Elvira's wand was missing and started following the blonde on her way to the previous hallway, where her wand lay defenceless on the cold, stone floor. Elvira couldn't help it, just as she was about to reach her wand, Clio cast a spell that threw her to the floor. She landed with a thud and shrieked in pain, but she had a few seconds to take her wand, only a few centimetres away from her.
She cast the meanest spell she could think of.
