I never linked them either! It helps so much. Thanks Rose! :D

Well, I'm glad my tip about linking the layers is helpful. I still wish you could select more than one layer at a time, though. It would save my fingers from a lot of clicking little boxes. ;)

I agree with River, Elmo. Make sure you have merge a copy of your static image with each layer of your GIF. And glad you figured out the lasso tool! It really is pretty handy. :)

I did... I think I'm linking them wrong or something. It'd be so much easier if you were here in person to show me xD.

Can you post a pic of your layers window (or your whole screen if that's easier). Maybe I can see what you're doing wrong.

Oh my goooodddnesss!!! So I went to go try again to see if I could do it, and if I got it wrong I'd screenshot my layers window, and... I DID IT! I know what I did wrong, I just don't know how to explain it. It was with the merging though xD.

Obviously it's not wonderful, considering I haven't had practice or have played around with GIMP, but hey, I'm pretty proud :D. Thank you for this tutorial!!

Really need to try this one out.

Elmo that is a brilliant signature I hope you are going to use it. You should be really proud of that.
